HSCT BEFORE AND AFTER
Can I show you something super cool!! It has been a bit quiet, but I have been kind of busy. Busy with the kids and trying to find my new daily rhytmn. Besides that, there is physiotherapy, I’m helping other persons with MS finding their way with HSCT, but also resting and recovering is something that is part of ‘the busy stuff’. People ask me how I am doing. My restoring immune system is having a hard time while it’s winter season with all those ‘flu-bugs’ around. So mainly I’m always at home. People won’t see me around that much, but the few that did… You know what? Maybe I will just show you how I’m doing! I made a compilation video in which you can clearly see the difference in my ways of walking. It starts with last Summer (how I was walking in August 2018 if I didn’t wear braces / splints). Then how good I could walk at Pirogov hospital grounds when I got out of isolation (and despite being in bed for almost 3 weeks and haven’t used my muscles!). It ends with how I walked last week, now that I’m home from my HSCT treatment in Moscow for about 3,5 months. I even walk on heels! Something I never thought that would be possible again. I wasn’t able to do so since 2014.
Sure, sensory disturbances and nerve pains will always be part of me. But hey, how wonderful is this video! I truly hope that the MS progression has stopped and how amazing are these improvements of being able to walk that good again and being able to do things again! <3
